Daffodil planting

We had a busy week planting daffodil bulbs in our new forest area which some of our parents and pupils kindly cleared for us during the Summer holidays. A big thank you to Mrs.McPhillips who organised a rota and brought the children out in groups to plant each morning.

Thank you to the PA

Last Saturday, the PA organised a clearance of bushes, scrub etc at school.  There was a great turn-out and a great deal was accomplished. The area is looking so much better.  Thank you to the PA for organising this and to all those who turned up to help out.

They are hoping to finish the work next Saturday, 1st September and would welcome any help that you can offer. Please bring secateurs, clippers etc. You can drop in anytime during the day.

The PA also organised for a drain to be installed around the outdoor classroom, as rain water used to gather there. This will allow the outdoor classroom to be used even during wet weather. Thank you to all those who helped out.

Happy and safe holidays to all our parents and pupils!

As we finish another busy school year, I want to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very safe, relaxing and happy holiday.

Thanks to all the parents/guardians of our pupils for their continued support and co-operation throughout the year. I want to also thank our hard working and committed PA committee and all those parents who help the PA  out in so many ways around the school.

Thank you also to Bridget, our secretary, Linda, our cleaner, Kathleen, who supervises in the mornings and evenings and Mick, our caretaker. They help to keep the school running smoothly all year, and ensure the premises are fit for purpose.

Thank you to the bus drivers for ensuring the pupils arrive safely to school each morning and return home safely each evening. It is a very important and responsible job.

Thank you to the members of the Board of Management who work in a voluntary capacity, behind the scenes, to ensure the school is the best it can be.: Ven Craig, Rev Simon, Ms Doughty, Garvan Hanley, Denise Magovern, Diane Henry and Ian Stokes.

And finally a big thank you to our SNA, Mrs McPhillips and all the teachers and who have served in either a permanent, part-time or substitute capacity this year, who gave so much time, above and beyond the call of duty, to Billis NS.

Farewell to Mr McPhillips and Ms Hobson.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Mr McPhillips and Ms Hobson. They have been a tremendous asset to our school over the past year. We would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication to, not only the pupils in their own class, but to the whole school. We wish them every success in their future careers.
