Santa pays a quick visit to Billis NS

The children got a lovely surprise this morning when Santa visited Billis NS. He kindly brought a tin of chocolates for each classroom. He obviously didn’t realise that we are a health promoting school!! But it is Christmas after all and it only comes once a year so we will be reverting back to our Health Promoting School status in January!!

The staff would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support during the year and to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, safe and healthy New Year.

Charity walk wearing Christmas jumpers

Thank you for your kind and generous donations to GOAL and Crumlin Children’s Hospital. The children and staff enjoyed their Christmas walk wearing their festive jumpers..we had all sorts, some that jingled, some that lit up and some very sparkly, colorful ones! We walked one mile this morning! The total raised was €282 which will be shared equally between the two charities.

The staff would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, safe and healthy New Year.

Carol Singing

Pupils from 3rd to 6th class visited St.Joseph’s Nursing Home after school on Monday 18th. They sang a selection of Christmas carols for the residents, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

On return to school, the boys and girls had some refreshments before being collected by their parents.

Thank you to Mrs. Edna Smith for coming along and to the management and staff of St.Joseph’s for their kindness to us.

Launch of new Billis NS App!

We are excited to announce the launch of our new school App. You can now keep in touch with our events, news and receive important messages from us at the touch of a button!  We will continue to use our school website but there is a direct RSS feed from our website to the App so any news uploaded to our website will automatically appear in the App.

We would encourage all parents to please download the App as we intend it to be our main means of communicating with parents in the new year.

The App is available to download from either Apple iTunes or Google Play at the links below. Alternatively, when you go into iTunes or Google Play search for PSA (Primary school App) and then look for Billis NS. Unfortunately it does not work on the Windows platform.

You can also scan the QR code below to download it. (You need to have the QR code scanner App to use this facility)

Please contact the office if you have any difficulty downloading the App. Please see the document below which explains exactly how to use it.

Credit Union Poster Competition Winners

Congratulations to all our Credit Union Poster competition winners. The prize giving was on Friday 8th December. Even though there can only be a few winners everyone who took part is a winner. The judges must have had a very hard time choosing as all the pupils put a lot of work and effort into their poster. Well done to everyone.
