Christmas Countdown

We are very excited about Christmas in the Infant Room. We set up a post office and have been busy writing and posting letters to Santa. The postman came to visit our classroom today.  We asked him lots of questions about his job! He showed us the inside of his van too!

Using our ipads to learn about shape

1st and 2nd class have been learning about 2D shapes. We did a shape hunt in our classroom. We took pictures using the ipads.

Science Trip

Today 3rd-6th class went on a trip to Belturbet Town Hall to participate in ‘Earth Science Labs’ run by The Marble Arch Caves Geobal Geopark.

Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Rugby Blitz- Friday 11th November

Everyone had an enjoyable day and they all played brilliantly. Thank you to Jon Watt and the Virginia Rugby Club for organising a wonderful event.

Cyber-Bullying Information Session and Drug Awareness Talk for Parents

Cavan Education Centre have organised the following talks for teachers and parents.  All are welcome.  The cyber-Bullying session would be particularly beneficial for parents of children in senior classes (4th  to 6th class) while the Drug and Alcohol awareness would be suitable for parents of children in 5th & 6th class.

 Cara McDermott will deliver a talk on Cyber Bullying/Internet Safety.   Cara works as a Multimedia and Digital Marketing tutor with Cavan Institute. 

Cyberbullying is a relatively new form of bullying which has started happening a lot on social networking sites, online forums and by email or text.  Examples of cyber bullying will be discussed, along with solutions to avoid cyber bullying and ultimately how to deal with cyber bullying. 

DRUG & ALCOHOL MISUSE AMONG ADOLESCENTS

Seamus Herron, Juvenile Liason Officer for the Cavan Garda district will give an information & discussion session entitled ‘Drug & Alcohol Misuse Among Adolescents’.
