1st and 2nd in the Outdoor Classroom!!

We’ve been busy in 1st and 2nd class this term in our new outdoor classroom! We’ve been learning about soil, worms and planting chestnuts. It has been a great opportunity to ‘bring the outside in’ and the ‘inside out’!

Pyjama Day at Billis!

The children (and some of the staff!) forgot to get dressed today! They arrived into school wearing their PJs, slippers and dressing gowns! Luckily they were still able to work and raise money towards the Karate lessons at the same time! Thank you to everyone for taking part and supporting the Parents’ Association.

Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing mid-term break.

Thank you!

Thank you to those parents and friends of Billis NS who have given so much of their time and energy over the past few months working on our outdoor classroom.  The people that made the build happen were Hugh Faulkner, Malcolm Johnston, Gerry O’Reilly, Robert & Nigel Bertram, William Kettyle (Carpentry work), Garvan Hanley (architectural services), and of course Janette Waller and Valerie Johnston who kept the lads on their toes!!  A big Thank you is also due to CA Hire (Christopher Armstrong) and Rodney Wilton for the use of their diggers.
All the pupils, staff and Board of Management are extremely grateful to you all. The work is almost complete and it looks fantastic!
Valerie and Malcolm Johnston, Janette Waller and Hugh Faulkner also repainted our playground markings for us at the start of September and they did a really wonderful job. The children are enjoying playing on them daily at break times.
We are very lucky to have some parents who give so generously of their time for the benefit of all the children in the school.

The Parents’ Association have several fund raising events planned during this school year to raise money  towards the cost of the build of the outdoor classroom. Please support them.
