Happy Easter

A mysterious creature went hopping by Junior and Senior Infants’ window this morning. We managed to capture him on video. Click on the link below. He even left us some delicious chocolate eggs in the garden.

Request to Collect Used Stamps for Charity

For years we have been collecting used stamps in school and passing them on to various charities.  The charities are very grateful for our support and have asked us to continue collecting these stamps.  The box is on the window sill beside the senior classroom. Thank you

Note Re School Jumpers/Crest

Billis National School  8th March 2016

It has come to our attention that some of the school jumpers have the wrong crest.  They have one green tree and one white tree.  The crest should have 2 green trees.

The supplier of the jumpers has agreed (on a once-off basis) to take back these jumpers and fix the mistake.

These jumpers  MUST be left in school on Wednesday 16th March (The day we get our Easter Holidays)  Please make sure the jumpers are named and that they are clean.  (These children can wear a different jumper to school on Wednesday 16th March.)

We will drop them to the supplier and collect them again.  Children can collect their jumpers from the school office on Monday morning, 4th April(The day we return to school after the Easter Holidays).

Thank you for your help and cooperation in this matter

World Book Day Wednesday 3rd March

Today is World Book Day!

For homework the children are encouraged to “Curl up with a Book”.  It would be great if you could do the same!

Thank you to all the children who made such an effort to dress up today.  We had some wonderful costumes.  Mrs Barbara Smith happened to drop in and she picked the winners and Mary Poppins dropped by to give out the prizes! Unfortunately we couldn’t give everyone a prize but whether you won a prize or not, everyone who dressed up are winners in our eyes!

Happy Reading!

Fun with Food

We are learning all about food in the Infant room. So far, we have created vegetable prints, made jelly and we have been busy working at the ‘Café.’ See some of our activities below!
