Book Fair 2014

A huge thank you to all who supported our Book Fair this week.  The school benefited hugely by being able to select books to the value of €600! This has allowed us to add to our selection of class novels, novels for guided reading and the class libraries in general.

We ran a Bookmark competition during the Book Fair.  First prize was an €8 voucher for the book fair.  Second and third prize winners got to choose something from the stationery box.  Here are our proud winners!  Congratulations to them all but also to all the children  who did not win a prize.  The standard was extremely high and each and everyone deserved a prize.  Therefore we have laminated each child`s bookmark for them to use and to keep as a memento.

Aistear Theme: Opticians & Colours

For the month of November, our new theme for Aistear will be ‘The Optician & Colours.’

Today, we set up our own optician’s surgery in the classroom. We made lots of different colours using the primary colours (red, yellow & blue). We went on a colour hunt outside and we sorted colours in the sandbox.
